Most Annoying Christmas Songs

1. Millenium Prayer - Cliff Richard
To be fair Sir Cliff could probably have made this entire list all on his own but in order for other artists to get a look in we limited him to his crowning glory. Cringey, Grandad, God rock at it's finest. What's worse? It was bought by the bucket load!

2. Do They Know It's Christmas? - Band Aid 20
Yes I know it's for chrarity. Yes I know they were all doing it out of the goodness of their own hearts and not to be seen or boost their own careers but it was AWFUL! No argument. AWFUL!

3. Mr Blobby - Mr Blobby
Only at Christmas could a man dressed in a pink and yellow suit, running around not even speaking in English succeed in the charts!

4. There's No-one Quite Like Grandma - St Winifred's School Choir
At any other time of year this would have been laughed out of the shop but as it was Christmas people bought it. So much so that it got to number one and kept Imagine by John Lennon at number 2.

5. Merry Christmas Everybody - Slade
Perhaps only annoying because of Noddy Holder and the one line - "It Christmaaaaaaaaaaaaaasssssssssssss". Never has a line of supposed cheer and good will made so many people want to punch someone!

6. Don't Let The Bells End - The Darkness
Trying, and failing, to be Freddie Mercury. Sings so high that only dogs can hear but perhaps that is a relief.

7. Save Your Love - Renée and Renato
I think the less said about these two the better. Quite who bought this record noone seems to know as noone knows anyone who has ever admitted to it. It still managed UK Christmas number one in 1982 though.

8. Can We Fix It? - Bob The Builder
Everyone's favourite cartoon builder sings along with his machinery to a cover of Lou Bega's Mambo No. 5- what could be more seasonal?

9. Long Haired Lover From Liverpool - Little Jimmy Osmond
I realise 1972 was a different time but when was it ever acceptable for Jimmy Osmond to be a Christmas number one?
